Tobu World Square

TOBU WORLD SQUARE
This is the resort "Tobu World Square " in Japan . Last year, I took a day trip up to Nikko (日光) to visit the shrines of Tokugawa Ieyasu and his grandson. A mountain resort town around two hours north of Tokyo, the area was listed as a World Heritage site and had several amazing shrines and temples with colorful and elaborate woodwork (including the famous Three Monkeys and the "famous" Sleeping Cat). The wording of the English-language brochure for the area amused me. When Tokugawa died, he "allowed" the people to deify him and the shrine was built to house his spirit. How gracious.
